Proposed Capital Fundraising Campaign

The Chapman-Beverley Mill is a unique historical Virginian landmark. Predating the formation of the United States of America, Chapman-Beverley played a crucial role in Virginia's burgeoning agricultural economy in the 18th and 19th centuries. To raise the necessary funding to ensure restoration of the Mill from its arson in 1998, I created a thorough fundraising campaign proposal to share with leadership of the Turn the Mill Around Campaign. While the fundraising campaign has not yet been enacted, this proposal presents a strategic vision for donor engagement and impactful storytelling designed to guide future fundraising efforts. Campaign Proposal

Following a generous donation, I developed this proposal to outline a short term fundraising campaign  aimed at providing necessary restorations to Chapman-Beverley Mill. I shared this document with our Board of Directors, briefly outlining my strategy for donor engagement, storytelling, and promotional content - all designed to build momentum and secure long-term support.

Content Calendar

As part of my proposal, I created this calendar to demonstrate a structured posting schedule for the campaign, ensuring consistent engagement with donors. It includes a mix of narrative, engagement, and call to action focused content designed to maximize reach, build excitement, and drive contributions throughout the campaign's duration.

Mock Post: Engagement

I designed this interactive "This or That" post to boost audience engagement and encourage donation drive participation while subtly educating followers about the site’s history and offerings.

04

Mock Post: Storytelling

I used drone photography to create the visuals for this post - highlighting past restoration efforts at the Chapman-Beverley Mill and showing how donations have directly supported preservation work. I sought to demonstrate Turn the Mill Around Campaign’s commitment to transparency and thoughtful interpretation of the historic site.

Mock Post: Call to Action

I designed this post to create a sense of urgency during the campaign's final hours, using themed imagery and energetic copy to prompt immediate donations and emphasize the critical role each contribution plays in preserving the Chapman-Beverley Mill.
